This group project includes the design and making of an installation. It mainly discusses the subject of translating physical laws into a visible and tangible form. After some experiments on the forms under different combinations of variables, a final form is decided on and an installation is constructed to further prove that such a form itself justifies the physical rationality of its own.
‘Frsh/ شرف (carpet, rug)’ is a geometry consisting of surfaces generated using digital-aided FE(finite element) analysis simulations, which results in compression and tension based morphologies. The surface itself becomes the structural system, which at the same time mediates the programmatic and spatial requirements of its surroundings. For this, it can be viewed as a materialization of FE analysis. To build up the installation, 200 aluminum cells are utilized.
